Time Is Too Expensive

Blogging has definitely not become a priority.  It has been in my mind pretty much everyday though.  I'm creating posts in my head and sometimes they actually get put in a notebook of ideas along with the other ten million things I would like to get accomplished someday.  I feel completely out of the radar, I haven't read any blogs in months and just barely today I looked through the September issue of Nylon.

Yesterday I went to the salon to get my nails did and as I looked through a magazine while I waited my turn I almost had a heart attack when I read that Target's current GO International collection was none other than FUCKING MISSONI.  Now, it was tight when Luella Bartley and Proenza Schouler did the same thing, but Missoni is a classic Italian fashion house; which means I would never be able to purchase an item from their collection because I'd feel extremely guilty for spending $1,000 on a skirt when I have a child.  The thought of me being able to actually own a Missoni piece was too joyful, but then my comadre alerted me that it sold out in a day.

Lesson learned: I have to carve time in my schedule to be up on this shit, somehow.  This is pretty difficult considering the fact that I bust my ass everyday and honestly the only thing I would like to do at the end of the day is put my ass to bed and get my beauty rest.  So basically I'll be posting again in a month or so because who knows when I'll have time to do this again.  Maybe before then I'll have the opportunity to read the September issue of Harper's Bazaar that's been sitting on my desk...

Hello You

Work has been kicking my ass for the past two months and it's been difficult to be a normal human being.  When you add motherhood to the mix you have no time to do jack shit, but at last I am on vacation now and have a sec to post.  I miss blogging dearly and I miss reading my fav blogs on a daily.  Hopefully I will be able to post more often, even though I'll be working on a massive history project during the time I have off.  My brain is a bit fried at the moment, but I totally wanna share my latest purchase...

I thought- fuck,  I deserve this shit, so I got it and I feel a bit like this dude...who btw I had no idea had my second fav human being, Abraham Lincoln tattooed on his sexxy chest, hahaha...

I think I had a had a mild heart attack when I saw this, partly because he is so damn luscious and partly because I think it's hella tight.  And speaking of R.R., did you know that the dude is a cross dresser??!!!  Seriously, "Walking on the clouds, suspended in thin air, Do ones beneath me recognize the red bottoms I wear."  This really threw me off because he's referring to Christian Loubotin Shoes, check em out...

It didn't sound quite right that he was talking about wearing ladies shoes so I did a bit of looking around in the Christian Loubotin website; which is pretty awesome btw, and discovered that the dude makes men's shoes as well and they are mad stylish.  I'd mos def wear these if I was a man..

Hello, Again

I'm back like a heart attack!  Hello blogsphere, it's been a minute.  Plenty has happened since I last wrote: marriage and baby!  It has been incredibly overwhelming and life changing, but wonderful and joyous at the same time.  It's totally awesome being a wife and a mother, I feel pretty special!  I don't really share details about my personal life unless you're in my tight circe of family and friends so forgive me if I digress from giving you the full scope.

There are a million things I would like to talk about and the hard part is choosing where to start...

Films.  I used to view them on a regular basis, but for some reason it's difficult to motivate myself to watch one these days. There was a period when I watched a Hitchcock film everyday and knocked out about half of his filmography.

My favorites are Marnie and The Birds.  Marnie is about a young woman who has some troubles, one of them is being distrustful of the opposite sex.  It's pretty interesting because it's very psychological, but then again you can say that about all of his films.  Marnie is also cool because it was the last film that Bernard Herman did the score for.

The Birds has the most crazed out scenario- when birds attack humans!  Honestly, it can't get better than this and the best part is that it was shot here in Northern California.  The Birds is seriously freaky, I highly recommend it.

I am totally ecstatic at the new Stanford Theater Film Schedule.  Check out how beautiful this place is...

They show classic stuff here and that means plenty of Hitchcock as well, yeeee!!!!

Update, FINALLY!

It's not my intention to be a terrible blogger, the truth is that my laptop died.  So much has happened since I last wrote: Valentine's Day, Mc Queen's death, watched a few great films- Good Heart and A Single Man.  I've also started working out on a regular basis, which has been really nice actually.

I wish I could write a kick ass post, but I can't upload all all the photographs I've accumulated to this shitty computer and since I'm a visual gal I gotta give you a photo with a story.  Maybe I will get my laptop to work again, or perhaps get a fat tax refund and I can purchase a new one.

Only time will tell.

Update of the Future

When you let so much time pass by without a proper post and so much happens it's difficult to recap everything so the December post will have to remain in my memory. I'm sorry I'm in a bit of a lazy mood and the fact that my laptop takes ages to upload iphoto is another factor to my lack of motivation to share all those photographs with you. Worst blogger in the world I know. I'm sure the photos and the memories will come up on the blog in the future, but for now I'll just share about the present.

I'm having a baby boy in May! I feel so blessed and exited to be a mom and I can't wait to have my little one in my arms. I wanted to give an explanation before you start noticing my bump. You can almost miss it unless you catch me from the side!

Happy Holidays!

December, you're almost gone! Every December is very eventful: my birthday, Christmas and my sister's birthday. There's also the last days at work and the Christmas shopping, seeing and visiting old friends back home for the holidays and tons of fun parties. This December has definitely lived up to all of it's expectations.

My birthday was beautiful and wonderful. I have the most awesome man, friends and family and I was reminded of their kindness and love on this special day. I would like to write a proper post about this because I have tons of photos to share and I know I will take many more at Christmas so I would just like to say happy holidays to all of you. I wish that you spend it with the people that you love the most and in a very warm place.

Health Come My Way

This photo is pretty accurate of what I've been doing lately, drinking copious amounts of tea. I've had a cold for the past four days or so and it's pretty annoying. This of course did not deter me from going to see my fucking idol Snoop Dogg. The show was one of the best I've been to and I took video footage of almost all of his performance. I'll holler when I upload them on my Youtube Channel. Until then, I'm gonna go back to chillen on my bed.

A Quickie

Hello blogging world! It's been a minute, but I'm back in action. My lack of blogging is due to a car accident I was recently in and not having internet for a good two weeks. I recuperated pretty quickly from the accident and only suffered a bruised hand and chin when the air bag went off. Air bags are kinda dangerous, my chin got burnt a bit!

Btw, this photo was taken prior to the accident. I'll spare the shots of my Quasimodo looking self.

Life has been good to me these past few weeks minus the accident. I've been to a few shows recently, my most favorite being Souls of Mischief and Mos Def. I have tons of photos and footage and I will have to share them with you as soon as I upload them all. Halloween was spent watching Ghost Hunters with my love, sadly I never got a chance to carry out my costume idea but there is always next year.

I've also been inspired to make headbands after a trip to Urban Outfitters and I stocked up on supplies a few days ago. I'm going to start on this little project soon and create a post on how to make them. They'll be lots of ribbon, feathers and denim in these creations, just the perfect accessory for all the upcoming holiday parties.

Yay, I can't wait!

Tis' the Season

What a gorgeous summer this has been. I had a whole month off mid June to late July and I spent every possible second relaxing and enjoying being happy in LOVE. The heat hasn't been as excruciating as other years, quite tolerable to the point I actually laid out to tan in the sun a couple of times, gasp! I had a wonderful mini vacation in humid Washington DC during the Fourth of July weekend and had the pleasure of attending a few outdoor music festivals. All of this is making me kinda sad that summer is going to be over soon.

Traditionally in October I like to spend a week in New York City, but this year I've decided I'm going to MIAMI! My homegurl lives there and she says the water is warm all year round, something I haven't experienced since I was a child frolicking in the beaches of Mazatlan with my family when we lived in Mexico. The San Francisco Bay where I live, is all coast but the water is so cold all the time it's impossible to swim in the ocean unless you enjoy to suffer. I'll probably be going on my sweet tropical vacation early next year, but while I wait I'll think of the life that is summer...

You're My Sunshine

Sunday Morning, Brings the Dawn In

Btw this photo was taken yesterday, I'm in my pj's as I type this...

Happy Sunday! This may be my favorite day of the week because I take it as a day to chillax and be lazy all day. I have a Hitchcock boxset that I can watch, or I might just venture into society and watch a film. The Stanford Theater is in full effect now and there are tons of film noir gems to watch. I haven't seen any of the films that were nominated for an Academy Award so that's an option as well. The day is very young and the possibilities are endless.

"That's so Gay!"

I originally posted this on my myspace blog a few months ago, but I feel it's important to repost it here in order to reach out to more people:

This is just my opinion, but my opinion is valid because I've actually spent time working at a diversity/cultural center so you gotta hear me out peeps:

"FAGGOT"

HURT PEOPLE AND IS DISRESPECTFUL. We all love each other right? Well let's start by recognizing that even though these words are used freely like the word "NIGGER," they have a heavy effect.

"THAT'S SO GAY"

Is not acceptable either, c'mon!!!!! WTF!!??!!

We are all individuals and have the beautiful power of freedom of speech, but when it comes down to it if we say that we have respect and continue to express ourselves this way, knowing that they degrade people then why do we continue to use them?

And of the record:

"MARICON"

Insults people too (you know what this is if you are a Spanish speaker).

It Lingers

Shitty mood still effective, but I am great at disguising this fact. Started reading Six Wives: The Queens of Henry VIII. Actually sat down and wrote a rhyme, it rocks. Discovered a fatty spider on my curtain next to my bed. Killed the poor thing (I think) but the carcass is missing. Saw Rosemary's Baby for the second time, that film is great. Rosemary becomes bony thin and births Satan's baby. Seriously questioned why I don' believe in God (do I ?) because everyone around me certainly does. I believe in the earth, the soil, the water, the wind...The after-life? Live as a tree or a bird.

Damn my hair looks good today

Too Blue

I am a wreck...

For the past week or so I've been utterly emotional. I try hard not to be, but something is bugging me. Something is not sitting right in my gut :( I hate feeling this way. I am unmotivated at times and I'll start something and not complete it because it's never good enough. My brain goes off into a thousand directions and I begin to think too much for my own good.
