Happy Holidays!

December, you're almost gone! Every December is very eventful: my birthday, Christmas and my sister's birthday. There's also the last days at work and the Christmas shopping, seeing and visiting old friends back home for the holidays and tons of fun parties. This December has definitely lived up to all of it's expectations.

My birthday was beautiful and wonderful. I have the most awesome man, friends and family and I was reminded of their kindness and love on this special day. I would like to write a proper post about this because I have tons of photos to share and I know I will take many more at Christmas so I would just like to say happy holidays to all of you. I wish that you spend it with the people that you love the most and in a very warm place.

Sunday Fashion

So how awesome was last Sunday's The New York Times Style Magazine?! I especially LOVED the spread with Taylor Swift. The cover was totally amazing, bright colors and great makeup on that face! Her look reminded me a bit of Alice in Wonderland. I'm always looking new ways to do my eye shadow and I think I just found my next inspiration. The styling was superb- the bold colors, sparkle and amazing SHOES! I died and went to heaven!

Close up of those to-die-for-shoes!

Homemade Stuffing is a Joy!

A glimpse into my Thanksgiving dinner contribution. Got this amazing Lemon Barley Stuffing with Shiitakes, Hazelnuts and Chive Butter recipe from the New York Times. It was my first time making stuffing and using/eating chives. The end result was delicious, very hearty and the Hazelnuts gave it a delightful crunch! My grocery store did not sell Shiitake Mushrooms so I substituted them with Portabella and Baby Bella Mushrooms.

I would like to cook this again, if only it did not take more than one hour to make. Maybe if I had a sous chef to shell the nuts and chop the vegetables it wouldn't be so bad.

Mos Def the Sagittarius

Here are some photos and footage from the luscious man Mos Def. The show was back in late October at the Voodoo Lounge in San Jose. I was lucky enough to be right up front. I drooled pretty much during his whole set for obvious reasons. Damn he's fine!

Best Show Ever?

Snoopy, how I love you.

Here are the goods, as promised. The show was amazing, one of the best I've attended. The ganja was in the air, the music was loud and the fans were feeling the man. He performed the classics and a few from his upcoming album Malice in Wonderland, which btw will be out 3 days before my birthday on December 8th!

One of the most memorable parts was the introduction, check it out......

Glad he opened the show with my favorite song "Next Episode!"

But the most memorable moment was when Snoop brought out this posse to rock with him onstage: Too Short, Mr. Fab, Dj Quik, Rapper 4 Tay, Suga T of the Clique, and Lady Rage. I shit my pants because on the way to the show I said to my love, "Do you think Snoop will have guests with him?" and he said "Maybe Mr. Fab," and I responded and I kid you not, "I'll give you $20 if Too Short comes out as well." Luckily I did not have to give him the doug because he guessed Mr. Fab so we were both right, but damn was I surprised!

Here they are all onstage. My third favorite part was the pimp that was with them, check him out on the left. He was wearing a long fur coat with a matching fur hat. No pimp cane though...

And here's one more, for the kids :)

Health Come My Way

This photo is pretty accurate of what I've been doing lately, drinking copious amounts of tea. I've had a cold for the past four days or so and it's pretty annoying. This of course did not deter me from going to see my fucking idol Snoop Dogg. The show was one of the best I've been to and I took video footage of almost all of his performance. I'll holler when I upload them on my Youtube Channel. Until then, I'm gonna go back to chillen on my bed.

Blogging From Bed

I had such a good time blogging and uploading videos this morning while relaxing in bed that I've decided to change the name of my blog for shits and giggles. It was so relaxing to do it from the warmth of my three blankets piled up on my cold legs and with a cup of tea at my bed side. Life could not get better, well yes it could but this is pretty cool.

From now on I will ONLY blog in the softness of my sheets and be inspired by the comfort of my bed.

Sincerely,
Your Holiness

Keeping It Classy at Souls of Mischief

It took 50 years, but I finally got around to uploading the Souls of Mischief footage I took at the Avalon last month. I guess I realized that my sister was never bringing back her super dope classy NEW computer so I used my laptop instead to upload. I was surprised that it didn't take that long, yay for me!

This is a classic Hieroglyphics joint...

Souls of Mischief are part of Hieroglyphics fyi.

The show was also the perfect opportunity for a fashion show with my posse.

Damn, we look good...

It's Time!

As much as I dislike attention I LOVE birthdays. This year is a special one since I'll be turning 25 and my family wants to throw me a huge bash. I won't pass up that opportunity since I can't deny my beautiful family, nor my uncle's delicious food.

Usually I ask him to cook up a salmon, but this year I'm craving a Mediterranean feast and I've settled on this juicy menu:

Moroccan Antipasto

Assorted Olives, Falafel Dolmas, Hummus, Tzi Tzi Sauce, Hand Twisted Breads.

Main Courses

Grill Seasoned Vegetables Napoleon
Mediterranean Couscous
Honey Glaze Balsamic Chicken
Dinner Roll and Butter

Dessert

Dark Chocolate Cake with a Raspberry Filling

And what will I wear you may ask? Well, I picked up this super cute dress from Forever 21 on a recent Union Square Shopping trip...

...these chunky bracelets from H&M...

I may wear this ensemble with a pair of gold lace up heels I've never worn from Banana Republic...

...or these candy babies from Forever 21...

I can't wait!

Sunday Breakfast

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day because I usually wake up very hungry. I especially love eating eggs and any type of sweet pastry. Lately I've been hitting up Alana's Cafe on Sunday mornings. Alana's is located on this property and you can chose to dine inside a cute Victorian house or on the patio, which I prefer because the view is so pretty.

I did not get any photos of the Victorian house because there were too many people in the way, but you get the idea of how awesome this place is and how delicious the food is. The coffee cake is especially good and warm when you order it.

Alana's Cafe is located in Redwood City, California.
